BountyShift

Payment and earnings

A fixed fee per job. On acceptance its value is added to your balance, and payouts run weekly. No commission is taken from testers.

How the amount is set

The company opening the job sets the fee and puts it on the job. Case count and how demanding the environment is both feed into it; embedded sits highest and desktop lowest. It does not change after delivery and does not move with the number of bugs you find — what we pay for is that the cases were run.

  • The amount on the job is binding
  • Finding zero bugs does not stop a report being accepted
  • Every tester on the same job gets the same amount
  • Extra cases are opened as a new job rather than raising an existing fee

When it arrives

Acceptance

The value is added to your balance when the client accepts. The acceptance window is on the job and is rarely more than two working days.

Weekly payout

The balance is paid out weekly. Which jobs fall into which payment, and how long it takes to reach your account, is tracked in the panel.

If it slips

If anything holds a payout up, the reason is in your panel.

Deductions

We take no platform commission from testers; the platform fee is paid by the company opening the work. The only deduction on your side is your own tax. You can download your balance history and past payouts from the panel.

What BountyShift is

BountyShift is a marketplace for software testing work. Companies send their new builds here to be tested, and the work is done entirely remotely — from home, on your own computer or phone. There are five kinds of job: website, mobile app, desktop software, embedded device and game testing. Every job's fee is known before you take it and is fixed; it does not change with how many faults you find, and a job where you find nothing is still paid. Payments run weekly, and no commission is taken from testers.
